Why We Are the Way We Are

Genetically, our bodies are nearly the same as our ancestors who lived 100,000 years ago. Obesity was never a problem… nor was heart disease or cancer (back then, the bigger problems were predators, broken bones, and the elements – things we don’t really need to worry about anymore).

During those years, our bodies developed by eating REAL food. This means eating plants, meat, and seafood. To get more specific, I’m talking about colorful, leafy vegetables, meat (beef, pork, chicken, etc), seafood (fish, crustaceans, etc), eggs, fruits, nuts, seeds, and occasionally starchy tuberous vegetable. Real foods give real nutrients.

But then the 20th century happened. Cities became overpopulated, and agriculture became a big business with big government connections. So we started making food-like substances that could be transported longer distances without going bad, like real food does. What you’re left with is the garbage that’s in your cabinets, full of processed corn, soy, sugar, and fake oils made from those same plants that are cultivated for quantity, not quality. (And we’re not the only ones pointing out the dangers of processed foods – in fact, a surprising amount of products at the store you’d think would be healthy are not!)

And what happened when we were told to stop eating real food like meat and eggs, and start eating things like fake butter, fruit juice (without the fiber), more grains, and fat-free cheese? We began getting heart disease, obesity, diabetes, Autism, depression, arthritis, and so on.

Let me tell you something – Obesity is a new disease. It’s not supposed to happen. The diseases above simply don’t occur in parts of the world where they eat real food. They happen in America. This is what you call the Western Diet. And it’s slowly killing you, and that’s why you need to get off of it. But don’t just take it from us – the causes of obesity are well documented by medical professionals and researchers all over the place – for instance at the UK NHS:

Put simply, our bodies don’t know what to do when they are hit with high fructose corn syrup, which is basically poison to your liver and treated like alcohol. Your body freaks out and puts it to fat storage. Your body doesn’t know what to do when you put gobs of soybean oil or vegetable oil into it. So what happens? It clogs your arteries.

It’s no coincidence that the amount of cancer and heart disease sprung from practically nothing once we started eating food that are laden with processed sugar, grains, and these foreign, genetically-modified substances. High-fructose corn syrup, anyone? This is why we are getting fatter and fatter, despite everything we’ve done to curb it. It’s time to get back to the basics.

Many people ask “Is this a low-carb diet?”. Not really.. but it is a lower-carb lifestyle, because when you’re not stuffing your face with grains and sugars, you’re going to kick the carb addiction and allow your body to start burning fat rather than storing it.

So are carbs bad? That depends on the type of carb. A calorie is NOT just a calorie, and a carb is NOT just a carb. They are all different, and they are treated differently in your body. There is absolutely nothing wrong with some well-timed berries or an apple, or a big salad full of vegetables. However, what IS bad are all of the processed carbs constantly pushed our way.

The OxyELITE Pro Diet – Banned Substances

If you want to become healthy and lose fat, you must first have some rules. The following is a list of things you should NEVER eat:

  • High-Fructose Corn Syrup!
  • Corn Oil
  • Vegetable Oil (this includes deadly margarine)
  • Canola Oil
  • Soybean Oil or any Soy-based products
  • White, processed grains (such as from white bread, pizza, and pasta)

These foods are new to us – very new – and our bodies don’t have a clue how to handle them. The oils are omega-6 polyunsaturated fats, which is one of the main causes for all of the plaque and cardiovascular disease that we have. They skew our ever-important Omega-3:Omega-6 fatty acid ratio (these fats fight for the same “pathway”, so it’s the ratio that’s important. You should have about a 1:4 ratio. Instead, Americans are between 1:20 through 1:30, which causes all sorts of inflammation everywhere).

The OxyELITE Pro Diet – Foods to Watch out For

The following is a list of foods you can have once in a while, but they do have a high carbohydrate load, which spikes insulin, which leads to fat storage. If you’re going to have them, have them early in the day – NOT at dinner – and don’t have too much:

  • Whole Grains and Oats
  • Starchy vegetables (potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes)
  • Sugar (don’t touch it if it’s a primary ingredient!)
  • High-glycemic fruits (mango, cantaloupe, bananas, honeydew, pineapple).. basically the tropical fruits

Simply eliminate these, and instead add some real veggies (listed below), and you’ll achieve amazing fat-loss in 30 days. The first couple of weeks will be rough, as you’re getting over the sugar addiction and your brain needs to adjust, but within a month you’ll feel ridiculously amazing. Guaranteed.

OxyELITE Pro Diet – What SHOULD I Eat Then?

Put simply, food that doesn’t need to be processed to be eaten:

  • Colorful leafy vegetables (lettuce, spinach, broccoli, peppers, onions, kale, carrots)
  • Fruits that are low on the glycemic index (berries, apples, pears, avocados)
  • Seafood (non-farmed fish, shrimp/lobster/crustaceans, etc)
  • Nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds, coconuts) – NOT peanuts, which are legumes
  • Meat (beef, chicken, pork, liver, etc)
  • Eggs – The yolks are healthy – don’t fear saturated animal fats!
  • The occasional tuberous/starchy vegetable.

After 30 days, you will find that eating REAL vegetables – not grains – makes you feel incredible! And you can cook them in a bit of real butter, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, etc.

So there are carbs here, but definitely less of them. And you’ll begin to feel the fat-loss because of it. Generally, it will work out to be 50% protein, 30% fat, and 20% carbs, which is good to shoot for. Look up matching recipes here and keep a log of what you eat!

Once your body starts using its natural fat stores to get energy, you’ll start feeling great again.

OxyELITE Pro Diet – Some Very Basic Food Rules

These rules will help you when shopping and deciding what to eat. Many of them are stolen from In Defense of Food:

  1. If it’s white, don’t eat it.
  2. If it has more than 5 ingredients, don’t eat it. Note: Except for OxyELITE Pro, which only has 6 ingredients! ;)
  3. If your great-grandmother wouldn’t know what it is, don’t eat it
  4. If it makes health claims, don’t eat it.
  5. Eat more plants — mostly leaves.
  6. No meals where carbs are the primary source of energy after 4pm.
  7. Limit fruits to those that are in season and low-glycemic (berries and apples), and in the AM.


It’s often good to log everything you eat in a website like Not only does it keep you from cheating, but it’s eye-opening once you realize how much junk you put in your body. It’s also good to find a good baseline for where you can maintain your weight.

Now, caloric restriction is good to a point – if you expend more energy than you take in, you should lose weight – but this only works to a certain degree. Our bodies are designed to store fat. This is because our bodies evolved by not knowing when the next meal might be. So if you starve yourself, guess what happens – you go into fat-saving mode. Exactly not what we want. So feel free to cut some calories back from your fat-maintenance baseline, but don’t go crazy, or else your body will hate you and it will show.
